Great article for international shoppers by Nicola Brady published in independent

Malmaison London

Where: London, England

Why: There’s no better match for a shopping break than one of the stylish Malmaison hotels. Dotted all around the UK, the boutique chain has outposts in prime locations in some great shopping cities, and are usually in quirky, impressive buildings (former prisons, warehouses and nurses homes, to name but a few).

To sweeten the deal, each of the hotels offer a Shopping Break, which includes a full breakfast, free cocktail and a £50 (€62) voucher to local shopping areas. Stay in Oxford, for example, and you can redeem the voucher in nearby Bicester Village, a haven for outlet shoppers. In London, you can treat yourself in Selfridges, where you’ll find all of the best labels under one roof.

The hotel is just a short hop on the tube from the famous department store, and is in the heart of trendy Clerkenwell, where you’ll find some great gastro pubs.

How: Shopping Breaks cost from £239 (€299) in London, or from £139 (€174) in other locations.
