Fairmont San Francisco Gingerbread Holiday Open House: The Fairmont San Francisco elves are working overtime this holiday season to create the hotel’s stunning winter wonderland, which the public can enjoy at the hotel’s Holiday Open House on Saturday, November 30. The event kicks off at 11:00am with an official ribbon cutting ceremony presented by LLS Boy of the Year Rhett Krawitt and representatives from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A special donation box situated by the gingerbread house will benefit LLS throughout the holiday season.
The Fairmont San Francisco’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Chad Blunston, has worked tirelessly on this year’s majestic, two-story gingerbread house, which measures 22 feet high by 23 feet wide. Lovingly built with thousands of house-baked gingerbread bricks and 1,200 pounds of royal icing, the awe-inspiring Victorian will be adorned by 650 pounds of colorful candy. The delectable abode, the largest of its kind in California, will also have a new accompanying gingerbread doghouse this year!
Guests and San Franciscans alike can also enjoy an enchanting 23-foot Christmas tree tickling the ceiling of the Main Lobby, beautiful holiday decorations and a giant tree of lights atop the hotel’s Tower Building. Children can write a letter to Santa in the lobby’s North Pole Nook. The Fairmont San Francisco’s famed Gingerbread Holiday Tea will kick off on Saturday, November 30. Limited reservations are still available through December 29, but filling up quickly! Please call 415-772-5204 for reservations.
The world-famous Giant Gingerbread House will be on display through January 1, 2014. At The Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94108.
