The Westin New York Grand Central has some exciting news! This Midtown hotel has recently had a face-lift that has given new life to their rooms, suites and restaurants including their newest restaurant, The LCL: Bar & Kitchen. Known casually as ‘Local’, this sleek and open space venue offers locally sourced food from the greater New York area. The staff also plucks some of its tasty ingredients right off of the Westin roof! The chefs started a garden up there last year and it was so successful that they decided to expand it for more fresh ingredients this season!
The dinner menu include options using fresh ingredients like hummus and crunchy veggie appetizers, chicken pot pie and seasonal sides like steamed potatoes and radishes. We started with the pizza and deviled eggs which were deliciously creamy, a must order in my opinion! Followed by an order the ever rich mac and cheese and the succulent skirt steak and veggies- cooked to perfection. We suggest you pair these great choices up with one of the LCL’s signature cocktails. The restaurant uses Organic Avenue juices and various organic liquors to create light and tasty concoction’s like a cucumber cocktail with organic vodka as well as mixing classic drinks with an organic twist. The ambiance is accented by DJs that are invited to mix together indie- soft rock that is just the right volume to talk over.
Although I do suggest dinner here, the restaurant is also converted into a breakfast grab-and-go bar in the morning that is a must try. Order up your own style of organic eggs and smoked bacon or grab an Organic Avenue Juice or a Stumptown Coffee and plug in your computer under the tables (cool!)… and start your morning.
