The World’s Most Luxurious Hotel Pools

Planning a successful summer trip, for business or pleasure, certainly requires delving into details to ensure you enjoy your home-away-from-home. Luckily, we’ve done the groundwork for you on one of the most important details of any luxury summer hotel- pools! We’ve hand selected our favourite places and invite you to take the plunge!

Oberoi Udaivilas, India

Oberoi is the number-one set of hotels across India and North Africa, each as deluxe as the next. Oberoi Udaivilas offers two options for swimmers: a spa pool overlooking Lake Pichola and another in a lush courtyard. If you’re feeling shy, book a premier lake-view room with a semiprivate pool just outside your door. This hotel is a majestic palace you would be remiss to overlook!

Hotel Ritz, Paris

Hotel Ritz Paris has simply the ultimate for indoor pools – complete with Louis XIV gilt décor and enormous towel robes! Locals cross their fingers and hope for a club membership invite to be sent their way. We suggest you take the easier route by choosing to stay at the Ritz – every guest can enjoy this luxury!

The Berkeley, London

The Berkeley’s rooftop pool and spa is an urban oasis. Between your massage and manicure sessions, take in panoramic views of Knightsbridge and verdant Hyde Park. The pool matches the rest of the hotel’s superb reputation for class and quality.

Amangani Resort, Wyoming

Bison, bears, and beach babes- oh my! You can see all three from the Amangani’s heated swimming pool, perched atop East Gros Ventre Butte. At sunset, we encourage you to move to the whirlpool for nature’s light show over the Grand Teton.

Palais Rhoul & Spa, Morocco

If you’re travelling through North Africa, we highly recommend the Palais Rhoul & Spa in Marrakech – especially its pool! The colonnade around the circular pool should inspire your inner Scheherazade. If you book L’Harem tent room, you could even enjoy a sunken pool at the foot of the bed – clearly a unique experience we hope you’ll try!

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Cap d’Antibes, France

After a $64 million renovation, this Côte d’Azur hotel unveiled a new, guest-only outdoor pool, which had been dynamited out of the adjacent cliff face. Perched 13 feet above the Mediterranean, guests swim in seawater heated to a temperate 82°F, and have a perfect view over the infinity edge of fellow visitors tying their yachts off on the hotel’s private landing stage.  A nearby set of trapezes hangs over the sea (near the ocean-diving boards, of course) for an adventurous dip in the Med. Try it – Karl Lagerfeld loved it so much he hosted the Chanel 2012 fashion show there!

Solage Calistoga Resort, California

Flaunt your new bikini at Solage Calistoga, a true luxury resort. After you soak up mountain views and Napa Valley rays next to the 130-foot heated swimming pool, connect with your surroundings with a Mud Slide treatment at the eco-friendly spa.

The Twelve Apostles, Cape Town

The Twelve Apostles is the luxurious get-away-from-it-all location that was recently named “Leading Spa Resort in Africa”. For those who like the outdoor life, I invite you to enjoy the heated infinity pool that luxuriously overlooks the ocean, or the secluded rock pool with mountain views. If you prefer something a little quieter, in the Spa you will find hot and cold plunge pools along with a hydrotherapy bath. If plunging into the hotel’s pools doesn’t satisfy your craving for that sand-between-your-toes feeling, Cape Town’s famous golden beaches are just nearby.
